01Cast on and body

  1. Cast on 66 stitches and join in the round.
  2. Work 40 rounds in stockinette (knit all stitches).
  3. Place markers every 11 stitches: you will have 6 wedges.

02Shaping the crown

  1. Round 42: Knit until the 10th stitch of each wedge, then knit 2 together (k2tog): 10th + 11th stitch. That is 6 decreases; 60 stitches remain.
  2. Round 43: Knit all stitches (no decreases).
  3. Round 44: Knit until the 9th stitch of each wedge, then k2tog: 9th + 10th stitch.
  4. Round 45: Knit all stitches.
  5. Round 46: Knit until the 8th stitch of each wedge, then k2tog.
  6. Round 47: Knit all stitches.
  7. Round 48: Knit until the 7th stitch of each wedge, then k2tog.
  8. Round 49: Knit all stitches.
  9. Continue this rhythm (1 round with 6 decreases, 1 round without decreases) until 6 stitches remain.

03Top

  1. Knit these 6 stitches in the round for 4 rounds.
  2. Close the top and weave in all ends.
