01Cast on

  1. Using 8 mm (US 11) needles, cast on 22 stitches.
  2. Work the first row in knit.

02Scarf body

  1. In this and all following rows, slip the first stitch purlwise with the yarn in front and purl the last stitch to create a clean chain edge.
  2. Row 2 and onwards: slip the first stitch, knit to the last stitch, purl the last stitch.
  3. Work in this pattern until the scarf reaches your desired length: about 160 cm (63 in) with 2 skeins of BeMe, or about 240 cm (94.5 in) with 3 skeins.

03Bind off & finishing

  1. Once you reach the desired length, bind off all stitches loosely.
  2. To bind off, pass each stitch over the previous one across the row.
  3. Pull the working yarn through the final loop, cut the yarn leaving a 5–7 cm (2–3 in) tail and pull tight to secure.
  4. Thread the tail onto a tapestry needle and weave it invisibly into the fabric along the edge stitches.
  5. Repeat the same process for the cast-on tail at the beginning of the work.
  6. Trim any excess yarn.
